Specialized Residential Treatment Facility (SRTF)
The Children’s Home of Reading offers residential care for sexually abusing youth. The program is comprised of a 48 bed self-contained unit that provides treatment to adolescent males with sexual acting out issues. The philosophy of CHOR Youth & Family Services residential programs is based on the belief that adolescents with sexually acting out behavior and psychiatric disorders should be treated in the least restrictive environment while maintaining community safety. Therefore, only those adolescents who have continued to exhibit behavioral deterioration coupled with sexual acting out, despite receiving less restrictive treatment and who are in need of a 24 hour structured, therapeutic environment will be admitted to the Specialized RTF. CHOR Youth & Family Services is committed to providing service clients with a specialized continuum of care, providing treatment and support services to youth with acute mental and behavioral health disorders as well as transitional services to youth who evidence readiness for community integration and independent living skills.
